At Idé-Pro, we injection mould plastic parts in a variety of different plastic materials with different properties. For example, POM has good properties such as low friction and high wear resistance, making it suitable for technical parts.
Polyoxymethylene (POM) is a thermoplastic and at Idé-Pro we injection mould parts in different types of POM. The material has a high stiffness and highly crystalline structure, which is achieved at a mould temperature of at least 110˚. In addition, POM has low friction, which prevents squeaking noises, and good dimensional stability, making it suitable for precision parts such as small gears.
POM is also considered the spring of plastics, so POM is also used for plastic parts where springy properties are needed. In addition, POM has good chemical resistance to solvents and is resistant to hydrolysis as well as thermal and oxidative degradation.
We have extensive knowledge of material types in both plastic, light metal and EPS/EPP and are happy to help you with advice when choosing a material for your item. If you have further questions about POM or other material types, you are always welcome to contact us. We also offer advice on sustainable materials.
