For 20 weeks we have had the pleasure of Anders' internship in the sales department. Here he has acquired a lot of knowledge about technical sales, quoting and follow-up, as well as product development.
Anders is currently studying Export and Technology at UCN in Aalborg, and when he had to do an internship during his 5th semester, he chose to focus on technical sales.
Therefore, he contacted Idé-Pro about an internship in the sales department. From his studies he already had knowledge of sales, quality and product development.
During his internship, Anders gained experience in sending quotes to customers, following up on quotes, attending on customer visits, hosting customer meetings at Idé-Pro and initiating tools. He quickly gained a lot of trust from the sales team:
‘’I hadn't been here a month before I had my first solo meeting with a customer.''
The teamwork and communication between the sales department and production is also important to ensure that the parts live up to the customers' expectations. That's why Anders would often visit production to see what was going on and how he could help. Anders elaborates:
‘’One thing is that I know how the customer wants the parts packed, but this must also be clearly communicated to the production team, so they know what the customer wants.''
Anders has also gained a lot of technical knowledge that he can use in his studies:
‘’I've learnt a lot about product development that I can definitely use in the future.''
Many technical issues such as material selection, part design and tool design often need to be discussed with the customer before a quote is sent.
Anders has enjoyed his internship at Idé-Pro and recommends it to others who are ready for a technical challenge.
‘’It's a great place to be, there's a lot to work with and no matter how busy it's been, they've been really good at helping me. I would recommend it to a lot of people, ‘’ says Anders.
The internship is over, but fortunately we're not saying goodbye. We are very happy that Anders will continue his good work in our sales department.
